You are receiving this notification because you have one or multiple VPS services located at the following location: "Germany"

If you followed us on social media, you may be aware that we were planning to close out our VPS offering in Germany. In anticipation of this change, we expanded our offerings to the beautiful land of tulips, The Netherlands, earlier this year. If you have an active VPS service in our Germany location, please note, you will be migrated to The Netherlands. (Looking glass: Nexus Bytes Looking Glass: Netherlands - Looking Glass)

We have scheduled your server to be migrated on January 15th, 2022, therefore we are notifying all clients on that server of the pending migration so you can be aware of the changes and be prepared.

Please note: This doesn't impact shared/reseller hosting family members (as of yet).

Why are we migrating that server?

As you may have been aware, we do not have much control over our Germany region, when it comes to backend infrastructure, that powers our VPS line up there. As we continue to improve and expand our offerings, it is more crucial than ever to ensure, we have the right resource and control over how we handle our business and ensure our family members continues to receive the best bang for the bucks and also vendors, who will actually treat us like a business partner and not just "yet another customer".

They have been a decent upstream and a very affordable one for us for a very long time. However, it is time to move on :)

How long will the migration take?

The length of time until completion depends on the amount of data being transferred, however, each migration should take approximately 60 minutes from start to finish. Storage servers could take couple of hours for each if not more.

What is Changing?

Server location and your IP address. All the benefits and specs will remain the same. Including promotional pricings. On the plus side, IPv6, finally (please pop in a ticket)!

I do not want to be migrated!

We understand that, for many reasons, migrating to the Netherlands, instead of staying in Germany is beneficial to you. To be honest, we didn't want to migrate either. However, we stopped offering new premium VPS services there for quite sometimes (more than a year) and our userbase there continues to shrink as we have hoped for. At this point, it is not cost efficient for us to continue operating our premium VPS lineup there and neither do we feel confident enough to continue working with someone to whom, we are just a number.

If you have renewed your services in Germany for Premium Ryzen VPS or Storage VPs with in the last 30 days, you are eligible for pro-rated refund. Please open a ticket under billing department to request your early cancelation and refund. This must be done no later than December 31st, 2021, 5:00 pm (EST). Any refund requests after that will not be honored.

Can I choose another location?

If you are on a promotional plan, sadly, you can't :(. Otherwise, definitely. Pop a ticket under sales and we will get you sorted asap!

What will be transferred?

VPS will be fully/completely transferred as-is. All login information will remain the same excluding your IP address, which we will email you. However, as always, We strongly recommend creating a personal offsite backup of your data.

Can I continue to work on my server?

Beginning on the day the server is scheduled for migration, you should refrain from making any changes to your current account/server as those changes/updates may not be transferred to the new server and be permanently lost. You should notice a small downtime during the migration period.

Hope you are well and so are your loved ones. This email contains updates and explanations, that are not long due, but overdue at this very moment. This is also a combination of personal message and major company updates.


Let me reintroduce myself, I am Jay, the proud founder of Nexus Bytes LLC. Over the years, I have had the pleasure of assisting most, if not every one of our family members, personally at one point or another. I have always taken pride in myself and my team’s work. The brand we have built combined with your support and support, alongside, many hours of hard work, by my team and I.
Lately, you may have noticed that the quality of our support has dropped. No, not only dropped, but what I would outright call disgusting by our own standard. As of this moment, there are a total of 219 tickets, that are either unanswered, ignored or pending my intervention. This is not intentional.


Before I even give you any explanation, let me start by personally apologizing to each and every one of you. I solemnly apologize for the service interruptions, the lack of support and the overall horrible experience some of you may have felt and faced over the span of last couple of weeks. This is not what I have built this company on and this is not something, neither myself nor my team is proud of.


If you weren’t aware, Nexus Bytes is/was being run primarily by myself, alongside Roy as my right-hand person, who usually handles most billing and sales questions. We have a dedicated support team for after hour support to ensure 24/7 premium support. Unfortunately, Roy chose to step down from his role around the end of July/early August, due to personal reasons. Which created extra work load for myself and my team. Roy would also occasionally handle escalations, when I am not around (sickness/day off etc.).


The vision was to train a new person ASAP to replace Roys position. Unfortunately, that didn’t work as I have planned for. When it rains, it pours. My life went through a perfect storm. I wish I was joking when I said that!

About a month before Roy left, I was going through a major transition period of my personal life. The day Roy left, literally the 2nd day, I caught Covid-19. Which took almost 6 weeks out of my life. Once that was gone, I was happy. Sadly, not for more than 2 days! Comes the Flu! Alright, that will pass. Oh, no! While being completely bedridden, I managed to fracture my leg. Half the time I am sleeping and the other half when I am not, I am on some kind of meds for the last 3 months. Any who, long story short, things are slowly going back to normal. I am at the last stage of my recovery period.


Why did I bother telling you all these? Nexus Bytes was built on offering personal care and that “family” touch. We believe in transparency. I believe in being honest with those, who trusted us with their day-to-day operations. I and we owe you an explanation and it is not a fun one to share :(. Being the captain of this ship, without my presence and due to lack of my co-captain, this ship felt like it is sinking. Thankfully, I am at the final stage of my recovery and hope to be fully dedicate my time again within the next 2/3 days.


Here are the next steps:

  • Pending tickets: Every single one of them will be responded and answered back by no later than November the 10th. If we owe you compensation, I will ensure that you get what you are owed, if not more. I am sorry.
  • We will not be deleting any tickets. If your ticket was closed automatically, please wait till the 7th before you reopen them.
  • Some internal processes will change to ensure I am not the only person who can approve/clarify certain things. Removing single point of failure is very crucial at our current business size and operation.
    To prevent this from ever happening in the future, 2 New hires are being on boarded this Friday the 5th. Both of them will be assisting me directly and locally.
  • Support team will be fully retrained.
  • By December 1st, our goal will be to decrease standard response time to 30 minutes or under.
  • There will be a new premium department for High Urgency tickets, that requires admins asap attention. These will go directly to an L3 admin, regardless of the time of the day, and will be responded with top urgency. This will be a premium feature. We are also toying with the idea of implementing live support for those tickets if needed.
  • We will be reintegrating our Heartbeat system to be more robust.
  • Please expect to receive some exciting/positive emails by the end of November, once me and my team gets everything back on track.
  • I will be available on the public forums like before (@seriesn) after the 10th. Once everything else is sorted and in place. There won't be any new promos till Nexus Bytes is back on its track. Existing family members needs to be taken cared of before anything else.

I truly, from the bottom of my heart, thank you for your continued partnership and your patience. I solemnly apologize for the recent negative experiences that you may have had. While life is full of surprises and uncertainty, I am committed to bring my baby back to its old glory and take it to the next level for vision 2022!

This is the time to stay vigilant and maximize each and every single opportunity. Here are Nexus Bytes, we are doing the exact same thing. Why are we making this decision?

One of the core reasons behind us launching Utah was to offer an optimal connectivity option to our friends in North East part of Asia.

Unfortunately, the network was very bland per our own standard. While we have tried to work with the Data center to improve overall quality of connectivity, it wasn't still what we were satisfied with. This also resulted in lower customer demand for the location. So internally, after multiple discussions, we chose to continue with our focus on offering optimal Connectivity to our North Eastern Asian userbase and we are removing Ogden, Utah from our portfolio, while adding Tokyo, Japan.

This decision was made based on 2 simple factors,

  • Keeping the same operational overhead
  • Improved coverage and user experience within the APAC (Asia Pacific) region.

So, is this an expansion?

While some may say yes, we say No. This is an optimization for us, as we kept our location count and business overhead the same, while increasing our brand value Proposition.

So, no specials?

Hmm. Not saying much, but October 1st ????.

Why Tokyo, Japan?

Tokyo, Japan home to on of the Asia's most diverse and large digital ecosystem, with many network and cloud service providers, as well as major internet and peering exchanges. Due to its geographical positioning and awesome peering, Nexus Bytes Tokyo, Japan location is an optimal location for those, who seeks fast and optimal, yet affordable connectivity and hosting solution within the North East Asian connectivity.

Tokyo, Japan will be available to order by our new and existing family members, starting October 1st. Following services will become available immediately: Premium VPS & vDedi.

How does this impact you?

  • If you have an active service in Utah, we will start migrating your services to LA, starting September 25th. Your IPv4 address will remain the same while your IPv6 subnet will be renumbered. You might notice brief downtime, that shouldn't last for anything more than 30 minutes
  • Should you choose to continue your service in LA, there won't be any changes to your plan.
  • If you prefer us to migrate your service to another USA location, please open a ticket and that would be a seamless process as well and will result in IP change.
  • Should you choose to Migrate over to one of our APAC (Asia Pacific) locations, your plan will be adjusted to our standard public offerings, based on your current service renewal amount.
  • Should you choose not to continue, please reach out to us by 27th of September to request refund and cancellation.

> Introducing Nightly Backup:

For your peace of mind, on top of our "Free Nat Backup VPS", we are also introducing nightly, self restorable automated backup option, for a minimial fee, for your premium VPS and vDedi product lines.

Initially, this will be available on the following locations - NYC, Miami, Germany and UK starting the 10th of October. Additional details will be announced 48 hours before the launch date. LA is scheduled for mid Q4.

No ETA for Singapore or Tokyo as of now.

This situation keeps on getting worse and a lot of people are losing, not only their loved ones, but also their livelihoods. There are families who are barely able to afford food, not to mention a roof over their head. Not being able to buy medicine or purchase supplies to keep themselves and their family safe.

Here at Nexus Bytes LLC we are not only ensuring the safety of our own employees, but we are also extending our support to those in need. We can't just sit here and see other humans suffer.
